Colorado Neurodiversity Chamber of Commerce
Neurodiversity in the Workplace
Individuals with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, brain injury, epilepsy, social anxiety disorders, and other neurological states are considered neurodivergent or neurodistinct. While neurodiversity is much more understood than times past, stigma remains, and many face huge barriers to advancement in the workplace.
Neurodivergent individuals are credited with high creativity, innovative approaches, problem solving and focus, but navigating social situations and excelling at “typical” workplace practices and in business, leadership and beyond, can be challenging due to outdated social norms and misconceptions.
This leads to discrimination and high unemployment rates among an often overqualified and highly able group of people. Hiring and retention of quality employees has been challenging for businesses in recent times and there is a critical need for tools and resources needed to tap into the immense potential that the neurodiversity community provides.
The CNDCC is the nation's first chamber of commerce focused on creating a successful economic community for neurodiversity in business. CNDCC members are leaders, award winners, and individuals who look to one another for the tools and ideas that keep Colorado one of the best places for business.
