Deirdre Sage - Colorado Office of Employment First, Danielle Gillespie - IDD/DD Job Seekers, Alia Andrews - Recovery Services Manager with BHA, and Aimee Nickel - Diversus Health
Dierdre Sage of the Colorado Office of Employment First (COEF) will be the featured guest for the CNDCC Panel Discussion on January 23. The discussion will focus on IPS Supported Employment (IPS), which is an evidence -based practice to support people with mental illness in finding good jobs and careers. The panelists will provide an overview of IPS and discuss lessons learned from their combined decades of experience. A panel discussion and Q & A will follow a brief presentation.
Ms. Sage, who has 14 years of experience in the area of behavioral health-supported employment, currently serves as curriculum developer and trainer at COEF. She specializes in IPS supported employment and also provides mentorship to Customized Employment trainees.
“I believe in the transformative nature of training skills and knowledge for professionals and individuals served by our community agencies,” she told us.
Joining Dierdre on the panel will be Danielle Gillespie who works with job seekers who have IDD/DD, serious mental illness, and substance use disorders with co-occurring mental health. Also serving as a panelist is Alia Andrews, Recovery Services Manager with the Behavioral Health Administration. Ms. Andrews also works closely and collaboratively with organizations that work with Peer Support Professionals. Rounding out the four-person panel is Aimee Nickel, of Diversus Health in Colorado Springs. In addition to serving as Vocational Supervisor, Aimee also oversees the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) program as well as the Unity House Clubhouse.
